1999 Ford Ranger Repair Cost and How Much Should I Offer?

0 votes
I am looking at a 1999 Ford Ranger V6 (automatic) 4x4 with just under 141,000 miles, and this truck is an extended cab. (Manual windows and locks) The previous owners from these people rolled the truck. It wasn't a horrible roll, the roof is slightly dented and some paint missing and now shows some rust. They said the windshield as a crack in it from a rock, they said its not big. They are going to send a picture. Also the front transfer case seal is broken. The truck is in decent shape, some patches of rust, and some dents. I haven't looked at the truck because it is 3 hours away. I need to see if the steering rods and frame are not twisted from the roll, they said it shouldn't be. They know no other problems besides the ones I stated earlier. They are asking $2500 for it. I want to know how much will it cost to fix the front transfer case seal and cracked windshield. There might be more repairs but none that I know of right now. So how much will the repairs cost I could repair them myself so supplies wise, but the windshield I would have to send the truck in. Also how much would a mechanic would cost to fix the front seal, just curious. How much should I offer her?

Check out kbb.com or nada.com to get the book value then go from there i can tell u from experience if the truck was in excellent condition it would be worth close to that (BUT I MEAN EXCELLENT CONDITION) by what u say is wrong with it it could cost 2000$ to fix it i wouldnt offer but 800.00- 1000.00 tops not a penny more..I just went on kbb.com and checked the truck if it was fully loaded with all the bells and whistles and in good shape it is only worth 3370$
